Boom Beach is a new mobile strategy game from Supercell, the same company who made Clash of Clans and Hay Day. The game has one of the most polished UI’s of any mobile game out right now, but one thing that really caught my eye was the way the player is prompted to destroy (“reclaim”) a statue.
Instead of asking players if they want to destroy a statue and showing them “yes” and “cancel” buttons, the game makes the player wait 3 seconds before they can click the “yes” option. Destroying a statue is an important decision in the game, and forcing this delay elegantly mitigates the risk of a player tapping “yes” without understanding what they’re doing.
